Here’s an overview shot of the inside of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus located in downtown Atlanta, GA (which is much more beautiful than the outside!):
I wish I had the time to take some close-up and detailed shots of the various statues, the ceiling, the altar and, especially the face of Jesus on the crucifix (which stunning); but, alas, I didn’t. Maybe another time!

P.S. If you haven’t seen it yet, go check out my eBook giveaway! The drawing is on Thursday.
There is nothing more beautiful than the inside of a Catholic church.
Have a terrific WW. 🙂

I agree. Although some churches are more beautiful than others. I’ve seen some real ugly ones, too! LOL!
Personally, I love the older, more “ornate” churches, with the stained glass windows and statues all around.
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog! It’s neat to see the detail that so many churches have inside….. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, they are!
nothing nicer that the inside of a Catholic Church…that was not ‘renovated’ in the 70’s.
So true, that! Most of the newer churches are just so ugly….
I love taking pictures of churches, but most of them are of the outside of the church. 🙂
Happy WW.

Me, too – if they’re nice. The outside of this church isn’t so nice looking at all.
Look like a wonderful church!

It is. I wish I had time to capture the ceiling. It’s quite beautiful, too. 🙂
Lovely. It looks like the Extraordinary Form could be celebrated there very well.

I think so too, minus the communion rail.
