Wordless Wednesday: Red Cardinal

I’ve been trying for a couple of weeks to get a picture of this red cardinal! He comes to the feeder outside the window every afternoon and even though I was taking the pictures through the window, it was almost like he could sense I was there and would fly away. But finally, I was able to get a couple of shots!

Unfortunately, these are as much of a closeup as my camera would allow through the window.

  4. What a nice visitor to your yard!

  5. Saw a couple of Robins today looking for worms after the rain but we haven’t got cardinals in our part of the country that I can remember seeing. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your part of the world.

  7. What a beautiful bird – such a vibrant and cheerful colour.

  8. You can see he is brilliant red even though he’s far away. Cardinals are very skittish and I have only been able to get a good shot using a zoom lens.

My cardinals are singing again… a sure sign of spring.

They sure are! No matter how quiet I was, it still seemed to know exactly when I was by the window!

I want to get my hands on a zoom lens sometime soon…

  9. So sweet!

  10. My sister collects cardinals. She wishes she could see a real one. Could you forward the pictures to me to give to her? (If not, I understand)
I am stopping by from WW hop.

I’d be happy to forward the pictures to you, except I deleted them after publishing this post. :/ Unless they are family pictures, I don’t usually save them once they are uploaded to my site.

If you want, you can right click each picture to save them to your computer and then send them to her (just leave the “simplecatholicliving.com” watermark intact please).

Or, you can just send her a link to this post and let her do it herself. 😉

  11. well done you captured it…nice shot! PinayMum – Mommy’s Life Around…visiting you with smile and happy thoughts! 🙂

  12. Carol, I’m so glad your efforts were rewarded. Can you imagine the patience of those National Geographic fellas? Glad to you posted your visitor, one more sign of spring.

  13. We have many cardinals here in Missouri. They sing their hearts out every morning. I haven’t tried to photograph them yet. Maybe it would be a good project for me this spring.
