Saint Martha, Pray for Us!

Saint Martha

Father,
your Son honored St. Martha
by coming to her home as a guest.
By her prayers
may we serve Christ in our brothers and sisters
and be welcomed by you into heaven, our true home.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

  1. I always wonder why catholics pray to saints instead of directly to God.

Hi Stanley, Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I appreciate your question. Why we ask the prayers of the saints is often confusing to others – especially to non-Catholics.

The comment box is too small to give an adequate answer; but, basically, we ask the saints to pray for us very much in the same way we would ask a family member or friend or any other person to pray for us.

I’ll write up a blog post soon with a better explanation and outlining the scripture basis for our belief.

    God bless.
