Fearless Friday: Prayer for the Despairing

There are so many people who are suffering terribly and/or on the brink of despairing. Many of these people have little or no faith or understanding of God’s infinite love and mercy. Many of these people are crushed with disappointment, illness, or tragedy. Many have faced hard-knocks or seemingly insurmountable struggles.

So today, I am praying for the despairing. Will you join me in praying for those who are at their wit’s end or struggling with despair?

“Almighty, ever-living God, You give strength to the weary and new courage to those who have lost heart. Hear the prayers of all who call on You in any trouble that they may have the joy of receiving Your help in their need. Amen.”

Oh, I forgot about Saint Rita! I believe St. Jude is the patron saint of lost causes, so he would be another saint to intercede for those despairing.

I am blown away about it, too! You are way up in Canada and I’m way down here in Georgia and yet we are spiritually connected. That can only be from God!

  2. Despair, even the faithful can fall into it. I am praying with you.

  5. I would also think St Dymphna would be a worthy companion to those in despair. I’m visiting from Barb’s. Enjoy your week.

Yes, St. Dymphna is another great saint. Thanks for mentioning her and stopping by my blog, Jenny. You have a good week also. ๐Ÿ™‚
