Our First Snow of 2012!

At least for those of us in New Jersey. 🙂 We woke up to snow Saturday morning… Not tons, but enough. More than enough for me! I’m not a huge fan of snow. It’s wet, It’s messy. It’s a horror to drive in.

BUT, I have to admit, seeing Andrew’s excitement over the snow is fun. From the moment he got up he was singing, “It’s snowing, it’s snowing. We have snow!” And the snowball fight we had was fun. And watching him make snow angels. Of course, the best part was the cuddling together on the couch as he drank hot chocolate and I drank tea !

Here’s a bunch of pictures of our snowy backyard:

You can see the snow/sleet well in this picture, too.

Still, give me the heat of summer anytime!

Thankful Box

Thankful Box

This is Andrew’s version of this idea. We are going to put the box in a prominent place. Each day everyone one in the family can write what they are thankful for on a piece of paper and put it in the box and then I’ll have Andrew read each one aloud on Thanksgiving Day.

(I know our box isn’t nearly as nice as the one I linked to, but our version of the box was Andrew’s idea and craftsmanship. He’s happy with it and that’s what matters! 🙂 )

Fall Festival Fun

We took Andrew to a fall/apple festival a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun! Unfortunately, most of the pictures I took didn’t come out except for these few:

Father and son

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

Even with holding on he had a hard time sinking his teeth into the apple.

Bobbing for apples

The dry version of bobbing for apples!

This cow won a bunch of ribbons and awards but I don’t remember why:

My Karate Kid

My son recently started taking karate lessons at the local YMCA and loving it! He has only taken two lessons so far, but he already considers himself an expert! LOL! He looks quite cute in his uniform though. 🙂

Futuristic Car

We took Andrew to an apple festival / car show a couple weeks back. While there, I saw this cool looking car. I have no clue what kind of car this is, so don’t ask. 😉 What caught my eye the most is that it looks like it has no tires!

Vroom, Vroom!

With the help of grandpa, Andrew was able to put together this 3D car puzzle. I wish I could get him to paint it, but he prefers the “natural” look!

Don't you love the silly look on his face?!

Bye, Bye First Tooth!

Andrew was SOOOO excited to lose his first tooth! Being the smarty pants that he is, he knows there’s no tooth fairy, but he was still thrilled to find a surprise (money) under his pillow. 🙂

Summer Memories in Pictures

Wow! I can’t believe the summer is pretty much over. July and August seemed to just fly by so quickly! I thought I’d preserve a little of summer by putting together a few pictures of my family having some summer fun:

Friends are a Treasure

My friend Terry (on the left) whom I’ve known since 7th grade and my friend Jen (on the right), whom I’ve known since high school. I am truly blessed to have such great friends as these two have always been to me!
