Saint and Feast Days in September 2016

Tomorrow is September 1st and it is time for the list of saints for the month. I can’t believe school will be starting back up in just a few days (for us in NJ). We had a wonderful summer this year and I hate to see it end! Still, I am looking forward to fall and all that comes with it. 🙂

Saint Pio, Pray for Us!

Today is the memorial of Saint Pio, a.k.a. Padre Pio. He is a wonderful saint for our times. He is known for having the stigmata which means the wounds of Our Lord’s Passion was present on Saint Pio’s body (most notably, his hands and feet).

Quote by Saint Padre Pio

But his sanctity does much deeper than that. He had a very deep prayer life and great devotion to Our Lady. He consecrated himself to Our Lord at a young age, and in spite of great sufferings, he resigned himself, joyfully, to God’s will.

I highly recommend you get to know this wonderful saint!
