Weekly Goals

Set Goals

I think this is the first time ever I accomplished all my goals on the list – sort of. It’s been a good week. πŸ™‚

Here are my goals from last week:

1. Daily mass and meditation, and rosary. (I’ve realized that getting to mass every day isn’t possible in this season of life, so I’m changing my goal and aiming to get to Mass 2-3 times each week.)

2. Finish memorizing Ephesians 6:10-11 (“Draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.”)

3. Start Memorizing 6:12 (“For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, and with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.”)

Family/Mothering Goals

4. Write love note for Michael and hide it in his work bag.

5. Read at least 3 books and two chapters a day from the Bible to Andrew. (Haven’t decided which books yet again.)

6. Work on a painting project with Andrew. hopefully we will actually get to this week! (We had a lot of fun with this. We built a small wooden car and Andrew painted it.)

Personal Development

7. Exercise on treadmill for 30 minutes, stretch for 10 minutes.

8. Drink 6 glasses of water each day. (Well, I managed 3-4 glasses of water a day – if you count the herbal tea I drink. I definitely need to be more intentional about this, especially as it gets warmer out.)

Blogging goals

9. Start reading Sons of Cain by Val Bianco and post review. (I’m only a few pages in, but it’s good already!)

10. Continuing posting the 31 Days With Mary Devotions each morning. Stay two days ahead of blogging schedule. (I actually got all the devotions written and pre-posted for the rest of the month! Yay me!)

Here are my goal for this coming week:

1. Daily meditation, bible reading and rosary. Get to mass at least 2x this week.

2. Memorize Ephesians 6:12 (“For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, and with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.”)

Family/Mothering Goals

3. Write love note for Michael and hide it in his work bag.

4. Read 3-4 stores a day from The Children’s Book of Virtues (Andrew LOVES this book!) and two chapters a day from the Bible to Andrew.

5. Work on the Science Exploration kit with Andrew that he got for his birthday.

Personal Development

6. Exercise on treadmill for 30 minutes, stretch for 10 minutes.

7. Drink 6 glasses of water each day.

Weekly Goals

Last week I outlines my monthly goals for February. Now comes the job of breaking down those goals into doable tasks. Here are some of the goals I hope to accomplish this week:

Spiritual Goals

1. Continue with daily prayers: Mass, rosary, quiet prayer and bible reading/study.

2. Continue memorizing John 14:27.

Spousal goals

3. Write love note for Michael and hide it in his work bag.

4. As Michael if there is anything in particular that I can do for him.

Mothering goals

5. Read The Mysterious Benedict Society to Andrew + have Andrew read one short story to me.

6. Work with Andrew on character building: Obedience. (Doing this with stories, role-play and lots of practice! More on this to follow in another post.)

Personal Development

7. Research a SIMPLE pattern for a Kindle Touch cover and buy the needed yarn. (If you know of any easy pattern, please let me know!)

8. Exercise on treadmill or Elliptical for 15 minutes. (Because of my CP, it has taken me a long time to get up to 15 minutes. I literally started out by exercising 3 minutes, so I’m a little proud of myself. πŸ™‚ )

9. Read Attack on Planet Falrus (for book review) and Good News for Bad Days: Living a Soulful Life; besides the readings for my classes.

Blogging goals

10. Compose and pre-post first installment of my series on marriage.

11. Write outline for e-book.

A little ambitious I think, but I’ll do my best. Come be inspired by some other weekly goals over at Money Saving Mom. While you’re at it, why not link up your own? πŸ™‚

Monthly Goals: February

Set Goals

At the beginning of the month, I shared some of my goals for 2012. To help me stay focused and on track, I am going to update weekly and monthly here on the blog. I’ve been reading the weekly and monthly goals on Money Saving Mom, and have been so inspired by Crystal’s dedication and commitment to achieving her own goals. I’m hoping that by sharing my goals, others will be inspired to stay committed to achieving their goals!

As a nutshell, my goal for 2012 is to live a more Christ’s centered, intentional life, with an emphasis on peace. I wish to be more attentive and be more present to my husband and son. Finally to break my sugar addiction (more on that in another post), do well in my courses and work on some personal development projects ( a.k.a. learn some new skills. πŸ™‚ ).

Here are the goals for February, along with a little update on how I did in January:

Spiritual Goals

1.Daily Mass, daily rosary, daily 10 minute bible study and meditation (Ongoing) Did OK, but missed several times…

2. Scripture Memorization: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.” (I didn’t memorize a scripture verse in January…)

Spousal goals

3. Write one love note each week to sneak into Michael’s work bag.

4. Ask him if there is anything that I can do for him at least twice a week.

Mothering goals

5. Read at least one chapter book a week and one “smaller” book each day. (I read a lot to Andrew, but I want to focus on being more intentional about this.)

6. Work on Character building. (This month: Obedience)

Personal Development

7. Knit cover for my Kindle Touch (once I figure out how!).

8. Exercise on the incumbent bike or treadmill 10 minutes a day.

Blogging Goals

9. Compose and pre-post a blog series on marriage.

10. Prepare first draft for ebook I’ve been wanting to get finished.

Did you make any goals or resolutions for 2012? How are you doing with them? Let’s support each other. Do leave a comment and share your successes so we can cheer you on and/or share your struggles so we can pray and encourage you!
