Weekly Goals

Set Goals

Not a lot done on the goals list this week, but Michael was home unexpectedly mid-week, so we had some extra family time which was wonderful. Then Michael took Andrew (and Nugget) on the road with him! It is nice having some unplanned alone time. So here’s how the week went down:

Marriage/Parenting/Home Management Goals

1. Send Michael a “love text” twice this week.

2. Finish reading Five Children and It to Andrew. (Hopefully I will finish this book for real!)

3. Clean out homeschooling area. (I will get this done eventually, but this week I am turning my attention to Andrew’s room…)

Personal Goals

4. Get up at 6:00.

5. Read a chapter of Proverbs a day and spend ten minutes in quiet time.

6. Exercise at least 15 minutes, 5 times this week.

Educational Goals

7. Finish paper for class and keep up with the reading. (Crazily, the professor returned the paper the same day I submitted it! Got an A. 🙂 )

Blogging/Writing Goals

8. Write two blog posts.

9. Finish book (It is on the Mass and will be free) and upload to website. (You can read about the eBook here, and sign up on that page, on the side bar, or below this post!)

10. Continue project for Red Cross.

Weekly Goals

Set Goals

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted weekly goals. Thankfully, I’ve survived my chemistry (although I don’t have my final grade yet) and have a few weeks until school starts up again – full-time. In the meantime, I am going to use the next few weeks to buckle down and accomplish some goals I’ve had to set aside for a while.

Here’s a refresher of the last time I posted my goals:

1. Make time for prayer and bible reading. (I didn’t get hardly any bible reading done, but I did make time for prayer everyday.)

2. School, reading and quality time with Andrew. (I’m not sure if the time spent with Andrew would be considered “quality” time, especially during my stressful times with chemistry, but I did get in some nice cuddle time while we read before bedtime each night.)

3. Keep up with the chemistry work. (All I can say is WHEW! I am so glad this course is over!)

4. Blog 2-3 times a week. (Most of the time it was 1 or two posts a week, and probably not my best posts, but I did my best.)

5. Keep up with house work and laundry. (We are staying with my in-laws for a while so really I didn’t have too much house work to contend with! Still, I did have areas that I was responsible for and being the anal person that I am, I made sure it got done. 🙂 )

Here are the goals for this week. I’m keeping it light, though. I don’t want to get too crazy and risk setting myself up for failure!

1. Pray, read bible and go to daily mass at least 2 times.

2. Do school with Andrew, read to him lots and spend at least 15 – 20 minutes a day just playing with him.

3. Get back into exercising 15-20 minutes, 3-4 times this week.

4. Spend 30 minutes a day writing on my book.

5. Plan out and write at least two blog posts for this week AND plan out a blogging schedule for August. I’m also hoping to pre-write as many posts for August as I can.

6. Think ahead and write out my plan to get through the September through December semester. (More on this in a future post…)

Weekly Goals

How did you do accomplishing your goals this week? I did O.K. but didn’t get done as much as I hoped. My classes are sucking up a lot of time. I don’t know what I’m going to do come fall when I start full time! I’ll worry about it then. For now, here’s how I did;

Spiritual Goals

1. Continue with daily prayers: Mass, rosary, quiet prayer and bible reading/study. (Ongoing. Didn’t make mass much this week but will make a greater effort this week – especially with Lent starting.)

2. Memorize John 6:33. (“I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”)

Spousal Goals

3. Write love note (In St. Valentine’s Day card) for Michael and hide it in his work bag. (We even got an unexpected date  night!)

4. Try to anticipate Michael’s need and surprise him by doing them.

Mothering goals

5. Continue reading The Mysterious Benedict Society to Andrew (it’s a LONG book) + have Andrew read one short story to me.

6. Continue working with Andrew on character building: Obedience. (Doing this with stories, role-play and lots of practice! More on this to follow in another post.)

Personal Development

7. Start knitting the Kindle touch cover. (I’m adapting this iPad cover that I found, using only one color and adjusting the measurements)

8. Continue to exercise on treadmill or Elliptical for 15 minutes.

9. Read Attack on Planet Falrus (for book review) and the readings for my classes. (Had good intentions, but never got to it again…)

10. Keep up with my course work assignments.

Blogging goals

11. Compose and post second installment on the blog series on marriage.

12. Write first draft for e-book.
