Queenship of Mary & Happy Anniversary to Me :)

Today we celebrate the Queenship of Mary. It is a lovely feast day and you can find out more about it herehere and here. Instead of praying the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary today, pray the Glorious Mysteries. The Queenship of Mary is meditated on during the 5th decade. 🙂

Queenship of Mary

BUT, what makes today really special is that today is my husband and my wedding anniversary! It’s hard to believe that we have been married for sixteen years. Time has flown by and there have been many ups and downs; but, there is no doubt or question in my mind that Michael is the man God intended for me. 🙂

To be honest, though, this year is bittersweet. Poor Michael has to spend our anniversary in the hospital and I will be at a funeral for Michael’s cousin. (His cousin was sick with cancer for a long while now and passed away a few days ago.) Hopefully, the doctors will figure out what is going on so Michael can come home and we will celebrate then.

One of the big things that stands out for me about our wedding day is that during the wedding mass (when the couple traditionally go to say a prayer at the feet of Our Lady) we publicly made the total consecration to Jesus through Our Lady according to the St. Louis de Montfort devotion. We said the prayer out loud together and then Father came to us to sign it in front of everyone. It was a special moment for us.

Anyway, please say a prayer for Michael, the repose of the soul of his cousin, and the family. Thank you!
