St. Andrew Novena Starts This Weekend!

Saint AndrewSunday will be doing “double-duty” this year. 🙂 Not only is it the first Sunday of Advent, it is the first day of the St. Andrew Novena. (Technically, November 30 is St. Andrew’s feast day, but Sunday takes precedence.) The St. Andrew Novena is one of my favorite novenas to pray. I always look forward to saying this prayer every year before Christmas. This year the novena starts on Sunday (November 30) and ends on Christmas day. It consists of saying the following prayer 15 times. Don’t fret, though, it only takes a few minutes, I promise!

“Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of his Blessed Mother. Amen.”
