Whew! So I made it through the Write 31 Days writing challenge! I feel a sense of accomplishment having managing to do every day of the challenge except one. At the same time, I am feeling a little tired and ready for a break. 🙂

Back to Our Regularly Scheduled Blogging Plan

Therefore, I am going back to my original blogging plan and will be writing twice a week. I am aiming for Wednesdays and Fridays, for the most part. We will see. However, no matter what, I will be blogging once a week.

I am hoping to start doing videos. I have been wanting to start doing videos for a while but it hasn’t worked out so far; hopefully, it will work out soon. I also have some raw, personal posts that I am writing – I’m just not sure if (or when) I will actually publish them.

Anyway, that is a long way around to say that I won’t be writing as much, mostly once or twice a week. 🙂

13 Years and Going Strong!

Today, my husband and I are married 13 years. I can’t imagine where all the time has gone. Some days it feels like we just got married and some days it feels like we have been married forever. LOL! But, that is how it goes, right?

The “honeymoon phase” has long past and has been replaced by respect, understanding, and a deeper love I didn’t know existed. And yet, there are still frequent moments of swoon. Even after all these years, I still get excited and rejoice when he comes home from being on the road. Maybe him being a truck driver has kept things fresh!

Marriage, as has motherhood, has also taught me a lot about love and forgiveness. There have been very difficult times, times when I just think it would be better to give up, too. We have struggled and worked through disagreements and arguments. We have had to forgive each other a lot and have had to rely on the commitment we made to each other. We have had to choose love when choosing love was the last thing we wanted to do.

But, you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing!

Ten Reminders of God’s Love for You

(I am reposting this because I think we all need reminders of God’s love every now and again. When we are struggling or hurting in various ways it is easy to forget that we are not alone. So, if you are struggling, I hope these reminders will give you some hope and courage. God bless.)

This post is dedicated to my Aunt Miriam who passed away a few years ago. She was one of the first people to encourage me to read the bible and to dedicate my heart to Jesus. I loved her so much and still miss her dearly. She loved God and understood His great love for us. She also loved to read her bible and did so faithfully. The Bible is God’s love story to us, so if you need a reminder of how much God loves you, here’s ten of them:

1. “O Lord, your love reaches to heaven; your faithfulness, to the clouds.” Psalm 36:6

2. “With age-old love I have loved you; so I have kept my mercy toward you.” Jeremiah 31:3

3. “The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior; He will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in His love, he will sing joyfully because of you.” Zephaniah 3:17

4. “As the Father loves me, so I love you. Remain in my love John 15:9

5. “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13

6. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal live.” John 3:16 (My personal, all-time favorite verse from Scripture!)

7. “What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we are being slain all the day; we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:35-37

8. “For I am convinced that either death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38

9. “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the holy ones, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!” Ephesians 3:16-21

10. “See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet we are.” 1 John: 31

I pray that you are touched by God’s love today. I pray that whatever you are going through you will have the courage and faith to stay strong. Never forget: You are loved. You matter. Your presence makes a difference in this world!

A Little Change in Blogging Schedule

Just a heads up that I will be cutting down on my posts each week. Our homeschooling starts soon, I am helping in husband’s business, and I have other projects and responsibilities that will be monopolizing my time. In order to manage everything, I think it is best that I scale down a bit. Therefore, my plan is to blog once a week for sure, and possibly two days a week.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have gotten a lot of encouraging emails from readers letting me know that they were praying for me and my family.

Thank you!

I’m not sure what brought all the emails but I am so deeply grateful to each and every one of you! Thank You. It means more than you know.

One of the main reasons I started this blog is because I firmly believe that we are all in it together. We all struggle, have doubts, or feel like we want to give up at times. I believe that there are times when we lose our faith – or at least want to let our faith just go away.

And sometimes, we all need is a little encouragement, even from a stranger or online friend. 🙂 And, that is what the emails (and the comments I receive) did for me. They have encouraged me and blessed me so much. I just hope that through this blog, I can do the same for you and be an encouragement and source of hope to you.

The Heroic Minute Challenge

Debbie over at Saints 365 is co-hosting a 14 day “Heroic Minute” challenge and I am so excited! I have been falling out of the getting up early habit and have noticed the effects. I have been feeling rushed, stressed, and not getting in my prayer time every day as I should.

What is the heroic minute?

The heroic minute is the very first minute of the day, as soon as the alarm goes off. St. Josemaria Escriva believed that the first moment of the day is the most important moment of the day where we can set our heart and mind on God and overcome our “flesh.”

About the Challenge

The challenge starts this Monday, April 4. All you have to do (!) is set the alarm for a reasonable time and when it goes off, get up, utter a prayer, and then begin your day. For more details, go to here on the Saints 365 website.

I hope you will join us. Remember, it doesn’t mean getting up at 4 am. Set a time that is doable and stick with it the best you can. Think of your “why” and don’t forget, consistency is the name of the game, not perfection!
