(After this review, I will be caught up with book reviews, I will be getting back to regular blogging. I promise. 🙂 )

From Book Description

“She left, heavily weighted with secrets. But God reveals all things, in His timing. and He redeems them.”

My comments

What is really great about When Mercy Rains is how real and human the characters are. The protagonist, Suzanne, makes a lot of mistakes. Her mother, Abigail, makes lots of mistakes. And, one of the other main characters, Paul, makes a lot of mistakes. They are real, and very, very relatable. After all, who hasn’t been paralyzed or stuck in a mistake? A lot of people. But, it doesn’t stop there. Through God’s grace, it is possible to get past those mistakes, and find redemption, and this story shows that road to redemption in a compelling and engaging way.

This brings me to Sawyer’s writing style, which I love. She writes in a captivating way that kept me turning the pages. I was immediately drawn into the story and I did not want to put the book down!

So, if you are looking for a light, easy-to-read novel for summer reading, I highly recommend When Mercy Rains and give it four (4) stars.
