Book Review: Together With You

together with youFrom Book Description

“Sometimes the most unexpected love can be exactly what a heart needs…”

My Comments

Oh my, I just loved this book, and I loved Victoria Bylin’s writing style. I loved the vivid imagery within the story as well. When writing books, authors are often counseled to “show not tell” and Bylin does a beautiful job describing and “showing” rather than just relating or “telling.” I was immediately drawn into the story, and I remained engaged throughout the story. In fact, I didn’t want to put the book down, and stayed up way later than I originally planned to finish the book. 🙂

The characters are realistic, believable, and totally “human.” Less than half way through the book I felt invested in the characters, and I felt like I “knew” them. Also, I am not very familiar with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, but I thought that Bylin did a lovely and respectful job incorporating this issue into the story.

I also loved how the aspect of Christianity was so naturally and seamlessly weaved into the novel. It is very present within the dialogue and thoughts of the characters, but it is not forced or “in your face.”

If you are looking for a touching and heartwarming read, I highly recommend this book. I give Together With You four (4) stars.
