Weekly Goals

Set Goals

Well, my husband was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital on Tuesday and wasn’t released until Friday afternoon. Needless to say, my goals for the week fell by the wayside, but that happens sometimes, doesn’t it? I’m just glad he is doing better and home. I’ll post my goals from last week here anyway, just to start off:

1.Begin reading  the gospel of Luke five minutes per day.

2. Pray the rosary each day with Andrew. This is the only goal that I pretty much kept do. I did do a lot of praying while with Michael at the hospital!

3. Write for at least 5 minutes (of fiction) each day.

4. Continue editing and re-working e-book  on prayer. (It will be offered for free on my site.)

5. Continue participating in the Clutter Busting Challenge.

6. Begin website changes. (Will be changing the color scheme and look of the blog. I feel like it needs an update. )

Here’s what’s up for this coming week:

1. Continue reading  the gospel of Luke five minutes per day.

2. Pray the rosary each day with Andrew.

I feel like it needs an update. )

7. Start packing for our up-coming move.

What are your plans for this week? Let us know in the comments or head over to Money Saving Mom and share them with us!

Theological Thursday: Why do Catholics Worship Mary?

May is the month traditionally dedicated to Mary, so I thought it would be good to talk about our Catholic devotion to her. A lot of non-Catholics, and sadly some Catholics, believe that Catholics worship Mary and that is simply not true.

Catholics HONOR Mary as the mother of Jesus. They DO

Book Review: The House that Love Built by Beth Wiseman

I’ve read several of Beth Wiseman’s Amish fiction novels, so I was happy to have the chance to read The House that Love Built which is NOT an Amish novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It tells the tale of a widow named Brooke and a divorcee named Owen. They meet

Stop Your Whining!

The more I get to know Pope Francis the more I love him! He is a man who is not afraid to pull some punches. On a forum I belong to I came across an article from the Catholic News Agency where the Holy Father  takes us to task for whining.

Sunday Snippets: A Catholic Carnival (May 12, 2013)

I am doing double duty this week. Last weekend I had an overnight bridal shower/bachelorette party at my sister’s house for my cousin’s fiancé. This left me with no chance to get up a Sunday Snippets post (although I did mange to like up Kathleen’s review & giveaway). So today I am going

7 Quick Takes: Ode to Moms Edition

Since Mother’s Day is this Sunday I thought I would celebrate by sharing some of my favorite quotes about motherhood.

1. “God could not be everywhere and therefore He made mothers.” –Jewish Proverb

2. “Mother is the heartbeat in the home; and without her, there seems to be no heart throb.” –Leroy

Theological Thursday: The Difference Between Partial and Plenary Indulgences

Last week I explained what Indulgences are and offered some resources to help you learn more about them. In today’s Theological Thursday I am going to briefly explain the differences between partial indulgences and plenary indulgences.

The difference is actually very simple.  According to Catholic.com:
