7 Quick Takes (Christmas Edition)

In response to my TenGreat Christmas Music Cds post, Barb over at Suffering with Joy, shared this video from Mannheim Steamroller:

I only vaguely recognized the name (Mannheim Steamroller) and it wasn’t until I found their video of “Carol of the Bells” did I realize who they were! I love “Carol of the Bells“!

Here’s a bit of trivia you may already know: The word (or in my case my name) “carol” means “joy” or “song of joy” hence the name “Christmas carol” equals “Christmas joy” or “Christmas song of joy”.

And what is Christmas joy? It is the realization that Jesus became man so that we can have the joy of salvation and enter the gates of heaven. In all our last minute preparations for Christmas let us take a moment to ponder what that means for us!

Have you seen the Star of Bethlehem? It is a fascinating presentation that explores the astronomical phenomenon of the star of Bethlehem that the Wise Men followed to worship Jesus, the newborn King. The presentation, using astronomy, also includes other fascinating information about our salvation history. Worth a watch and discerning for yourself.
